“I had a burden,” says Mrs. Diane, a former Muslim who has given her life to Jesus Christ.  Her burden – taking the gospel to the poor villages where there are no churches.

She asked why pastors don’t go to the villages to preach.  The response – it’s difficult.  Due to poverty the congregations don’t give much in tithe and the people are in great need.

Mrs. Diane now pastors a new church plant in a village in Nyamata.  “It is not easy, but to God, nothing is impossible,” she said.

“The villages require sacrifice.”  It’s not comfortable and you deny yourself, leaving your family to serve others, she says.

Her burden should be the burden for every Christian.  Our assignment is not to sit on earth comfortably, but we are told to “GO” and make disciples of all people groups (Matthew 28:19).  The way of the cross is not easy, but it is work worth doing for Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Diane is doing it.  She and her husband are contributing most all of their own income to preach the good news, and there are still many more church plants needed  to continue spreading the gospel in Nyamata.

What about us?  Are we giving it all for the gospel of Jesus Christ?  Are we giving our whole lives… or like the rich, are we only giving only of the extra we have while the poor widow is giving her entire income for God’s kingdom? (Mark 12:42-44)
